A few things you will need to know before you continue, you will need to refer to these special terms:
Allah: Arabic word for The ONE & ONLY Creator of the universe, of mankind, of the heavens and the earth and everything in between. Master of the Day of Judgement, the All Knowing, All Hearing, All Seeing. The Self Sufficient, The Self Sustainer.
Unless specified, these words are all Arabic-English translated.
Assalamualaikum: peace be upon you
Assalamualaikum wa Rahmatulahi wa Barakatu: peace and Mercy and Blessings of Allah be upon you
Aleyhi Sallam: Peace be upon him
Alhamdulilah: All praise and thanks for Allah
Hajj: The annual pilgrimage performed in Makkah by a Muslim
Hidayah: Guidance
Hijab: literally means , curtain, veil, covering. Also is the head scarf that Muslim women wear
Insha'Allah: Allah willing
Islam: Peace, Submission to Allah & Allah alone with no partners associated.
Isa: Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him)
Jannah: Paradise, the Eternal abode for the righteous Muslim (see Muslim)
Jazakilah Kheyr: May Allah reward you
Masha'Allah: "whatever Allah wills"
Muslim: one who submits to Allah and what He prescribed for us
Niqab: face veil, piece of cloth that covers everything except the eyes
Qur'an : The final Book of Allah sent down not just to those who submit to Allah (Muslims) but for the entire mankind
Rabb: Lord
Sadaqah: Charity (can be through alms giving or a simple smile and being kind to your neighbour)
Salaf: The pious predecessors , who followed the proper way of the Qur'an and Sunnah
Salat: Muslim's Prayer, referring to 5 daily prayers
Sallalahu Aleyhi Wasselum: Arabic word, literally means , peace be upon him, often said after hearing Prophet Muhammad's name.
Subhana'Allah: Glory be to Allah
Sunnah: The correct teachings/way of life, of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)
